Other than the poor lighting, I don't see why this is considered "potato" quality. iPhones have very good cameras. Don't call it what it isn't.

Yeah, its just poorly exposed. OP, next time be sure to tap on the screen to focus/expose for an area in the shadows rather than in bright sunlight.
